Description |
We need to document that a DC/OS nodes hostname should resolve to a locally bindable IP address. If the hostname of a node is set to a non-local IP address, it might lead to undefined behavior from applications due to the fact that the most applications resolve the hostname to bind to local address. |

This ticket is deferred to DC/OS 1.10.2 as part of a bulk move (labels=bulk-defer-to-1.10.2-20171106). Please make sure this targeted fixVersion is correct, as well as the workflow status. |

Are you able to do that for 1.10.2? If not, can you please update the fixVersion in here? Thanks |

Avinash Sridharan – can you provide a bit more context about this? Is this something a user would configure at install time? |

Avinash Sridharan can you assign this to an engineer to work with Thomas King to update the documentation? RC1 is Friday. |

As we continue to deferring this ticket, I am downgrading it now. |

All DC/OS node host names should resolve to *locally bindable* IP addresses. Most applications require host names to resolve by binding to a local IP address to function correctly. Applications that cannot resolve the host name of a node by binding to a local IP address might fail to function or behave in unexpected ways. ------ Craig Neth [11:39 AM] It’s related to bullet 3 in that list, I believe.
